Overview
Not simply a heated drum. Three U-shaped immersion elements lie across the tank floor, a geared motor turns a two-level paddle agitator, and a digital controller holds the melt at a set point — so the machine melts, mixes, evens out and stores in one vessel.
The elements sit in the wax rather than under the shell, so heat goes straight into the charge. Standoff brackets keep every side of each tube wetted and stop a long element sagging as it cycles hot and cold. Melting starts as a pool on the floor and works upward.
That is why the agitator matters: without it the bottom runs hot while solid wax still sits on top, which is slow and risks local overheating. The paddle carries hot wax away from the elements and draws cooler wax down to them. It is deliberately low-speed and high-torque — a fast impeller would whip air into the wax and show up later as bubbles and surface defects in the candle.
Once the set point is reached the controller cycles the elements and the machine becomes a thermostatic holding tank, feeding the pouring line through a large-bore outlet set low on the side so the batch runs out almost completely.

Operating note. One operating rule matters more than the rest: never start the agitator into a solid block. Heat first, let a pool form around the blades, then start at low speed. Starting into set wax locks the paddles and overloads the motor, the gearbox and the shaft.
